Sometimes the first thing I wonder when I blink my eyes open, greeted by a bright white ray of sunshine, is what took place while I was asleep? That is what this piece speaks to - a fresh start, the transition of night to day and all the happens in between. Warm yellows and sky blues symbolic of daylight accompanied by the dark silvery tones of black graphite on the same surface interweaving with each other, speaks to the partnership of night and day, the power couple of the natural world - light and dark.
