Wild mustard, that rough blaze of the fields.”
The visuals in this passage really informed the colors palette for this piece. I pictured a horizon line and neutral tones balanced out by a burst of color, similar to that of a setting or rising of the sun. Perhaps more of a neutral piece amongst the rest, subtle notes of color from the underlying papers peaked through washes of tans and light yellows after a light sanding by hand, which I found really lovely.
